Morgan pulls in Orange offer

During the 2011 recruiting class Syracuse University made a point to make New York its foundation for recruiting. In 2012 that is the case yet again and one prospect who is getting looked at by the Orange is Wayne Morgan.

Morgan, 5-foot-11, 188 pounds is an ultra dynamic football player who can dominate on both sides of the ball. In his last season Morgan had over 1,200 all purpose yards on offense and on defense he totaled over 40 tackles. That on field play led him to be offered by the Orange.

"Syracuse did come in with an offer for me. They offered me a few weeks ago."

The Orange offer was a bit of a surprise for Morgan.

"I was surprised when they offered because I did not think that they would offer so quickly. I really though they would wait."

John Anselmo handles the New York City area for Syracuse and that is the case yet again and it looks like Morgan is one of his top priorities.

"Coach Anselmo and I are cool he has come down to the school like five or six times, so we got close. Coach Marrone also came down once and he is a really cool person. Coach Marrone keeps it real."

Despite being in New York Morgan has not visited the Syracuse campus, but that will change in a few weeks.

"I have never been to there campus, but I plan on making it to their junior day next month."

On Rivals.com Morgan is listed as a defensive back even though he is a versatile player. The Syracuse coaches also agree with Rivals.com and see Morgan playing defensive back for them.

"They are looking for me to play cornerback. I am shifty, crafty, and I have great ball skills."

Besides Syracuse Morgan has offers from Connecticut, Maryland, Miami, Penn State, and Rutgers.
