Nick Isham put up big numbers in 2009 and 2010, but college coaches are weary of his size. Isham likens himself to a Drew Brees type quarterback because of his stature, Isham is 6 feet tall, and he gets the ball out fast, has good footwork in the pocket, can move outside of the pocket, and has good leadership.
Isham also has attracted offers from several Ivy League schools in Cornell, Dartmouth, Pennsylvania, Harvard and Princeton. With a GPA of 3.8 and an SAT score of 1720 there's no wonder why those schools have offered Nick.
Louisiana Tech head coach Sonny Dykes offered Isham over the phone yesterday. He said he likes Tech because "its a really good program." Also, Nick likes the background of the staff at Louisiana Tech. His high school offense was not the "Tony Franklin System", but was very similar.
Westlake High School runs a fast paced and no huddle offense and Nick said it excited him to possibly play that style again. Also, the quarterback depth Louisiana Tech has on its depth chart is a very positive thing for Isham. He said he wants to come in and compete wherever he decides to play and that he knows he can do that at Tech.
