Allen ends up a Bulldog

Mississippi State's depth at defensive end takes quite a hit for next season following the death of sophomore Nick Bell, the graduation of Pernell McPhee and redshirt freshman Johnathan McKenzie leaving the team.

The Bulldogs already have two high school commitments but gained some instant veteran experience on Friday when Gulf Coast Community College's Lloyd Allen gave his commitment following a visit from the coaching staff.

"It was a good fit for me," Allen said. "I had a good visit with Coach (Chris) Wilson. I just feel Mississippi State is where I am supposed to be."

Allen, who was briefly committed to Houston, has helped lead Gulf Coast to the Mississippi Bowl which will be held Sunday against Grand Rapids (Mich.) Community College. He has tallied who had 32 tackles, six sacks and eight tackles for loss this year.
