Three-star CB eyeing state title

While many prospects have concluded their seasons and are beginning to focus solely on recruiting, three-star cornerback Bruce Dukes is hoping to get in at least two more games.

The Sandy Creek (Ga.) High School standout has his team off to a perfect 13-0 start and will play in the Class AAA Semifinals Friday night against Peach County.

"The season is going pretty good," Dukes said. "We are 13-0 right now and are planning on winning state again. The coaches are getting us fired up to play every game and we are looking forward to playing Peach County Friday night."

Peach County also enters the semifinal matchup riding a 27-game winning streak and averaging 44.2 points per game this season.

"I think they are pretty good and I like their running back," Dukes said. "I feel like we should be able to stop them with the scheme that our coaches have planned right now. We have a pretty good scheme on defense and their offense won't be able to put points on the board like they've been doing."

The Patriots have been blowing out opponents all season and have outscored their opposition 133-3 in the first three games of the playoffs. Sandy Creek shutout Monroe Area 41-0 last week.
