Slay plans to recommit to State soon
Two years ago Mississippi State signed a speedy two-star wide receiver out of Brunswick, Ga., named Darius Slay.
Now after a season at cornerback for Itawamba Community College, the MAJC first teamer has raised his stock but not changed his mind about where he wants to attend school.
"It's still the same, I'm still thinking about State," Slay said. "I know that I committed to them out of high school and I want to stay true to my commitment. They have stuck with me too."
Slay admits that he has no idea how many scholarship offers he has or which school are even recruiting him. The only program that he knows of through his coach is the Bulldogs and that is all that seems to matter.
"I guess recruiting has been going alright," Slay said. "My coach has been telling me schools have been calling but won't tell me who because I'm committing with State. He told me that he's not going to tell me any of them yet."
Slay could be the next commitment added to the Bulldogs' growing list of 14. He plans on making his decision sometime before the Indians season starts. He will then enroll at MSU in January joining the rest of his highly-touted 2009 signing class.
