Craig has UConn on top

Abington Heights (Pa.) defensive lineman Morgan Craig currently has offers from Akron and Kent State, but has also caught the attention of some big time programs. Connecticut has positioned themselves among Craig's favorites, should they choose to extend an offer.

"Connecticut has been at the top of my list throughout the entire process," said Craig, a self-described run-stopping defensive end. "They haven't offered yet, but I'm hoping within the first couple of weeks of the season I'll send my film up to them, they'll like what they see and send out an offer."

Craig visited UConn's campus last fall, and came away impressed with the experience.

"It went really well," said Craig. "I went there for [the Rutgers game] last fall. I got to check out the facilities after the game and they were unbelievable. I loved it."

UConn is one of the many schools Craig has visited, along with Penn State, Rutgers and Temple. He also plans to visit Pitt, Cincinnati and Akron later this summer. However, the visit to Storrs will be difficult to top.

"When I checked it out I got to talk to the head coach, Randy Edsall, and he was a great guy," said Craig. "I got to check out their brand new facilities. I liked their stadium. The atmosphere there felt very comfortable for me."

Outside of meeting coach Edsall, Craig has mostly been in contact with assistant head coach Hank Hughes.

"I think we have a pretty good relationship," Craig said of Hughes. "He's a nice guy and I think we both like each other."

As a junior at Abington Heights, Craig totaled 52 tackles and a pair of sacks. Though productive, Craig believes he can top those numbers this season, and is one reason why he is willing to let the recruitment process play itself out.

"I think I'm going to wait a couple of weeks into my senior season and see how things are going [before making a decision]," said Craig.
