DE Kerner discusses upcoming plans

It has been a productive summer for Pennsylvania defensive end Jordan Kerner.

The three-star prospect from Fairview, Pa., recently visited two of the schools that have been recruiting him and he's planning on checking out two more before too long.

"Last weekend I actually went to a Northwestern camp," Kerner recalled. "After that I went to visit Iowa."

Northwestern has not offered Kerner a scholarship to date, and apparently Kerner isn't taking a hard looking at the Wildcats any longer. While the camp went well, the 6-foot-5, 225-pound defensive end said Penn State is the only school that has not offered that he is still hoping to hear more from.

"I liked Iowa a lot," Kerner said. "They gave me a tour of the campus and the facilities and everything. I got to talk to coach Ferentz for a while and I felt good there."

Kerner won't be stopping there. He plans on setting up visits to Penn State and Rutgers in the near future.

"After I visit Rutgers I might be able to put together a decision," he said. "If I can then I'll do ahead and do it (commit) this summer. If I can't then I might take a couple of official visits. I'll definitely at least do it after a couple of officials. I don't want to wait too late."

Kerner said he has not made a lot of progress in terms of narrowing his list. He did say that the six schools that have offered are all still in play, and he's still hoping for an offer from Penn State.
