2010 Recruiting Awards
Every year BeaverBlitz likes to take a look back at the recruiting class and dish out awards. Here is a look at our class awards, which includes the top offensive, defensive and sleeper recruits of the cycle for Oregon State, as well as recruiter of the year.
Most important recruit: Defensive Line recruits. The defensive line was such an important area for the Beavers this season, we decided that all of the recruits deserved Most Important honors. Defensive tackles Thomas Molesi and Fred Thompson and end Scott Crichton highlight the group, but equally important are Dominic Glover and Mana Tuivailala, who just may turn out to be the sleeper of the class.
Top recruiter for the class: This is a tough one because many of the coaches played a role in landing some top talent. Mark Banker was responsible for landing Shaydon Akuna, Malcolm Marable and Tyler Perry so he may well be the top recruiter for the Beavers this year.
Don't discount the 'young guns' of Keith Heyward and Reggie Davis however. Davis handled Orange County this year and helped land Thomas Molesi and Dominic Glover, while Heyward was solely responsible for Ryan Murphy and Fred Thompson.
