In looking at the accepted entries, I was shocked at how few Red Raiders will be going to Fayetteville this year. It appears that the distance runners (plus one female quartermiler) are going to Arkansas and all the sprinters and field event people must be going to TAMU to compete on that new track, which will be the home of the conference and national indoor meet. I don't know for certain who may be going to TAMU, since they have not posted their entries yet. The same must be true of a lot of teams, because the fields for some of the men's field events at the Tyson are shockingly small.
Any way, here are the accepted Tech entries to the meet:
Invitational mile - Sally Kipyego Invitational 3K - Lillian Badaru 400 - Trudy Clark (the only sprinter going to Arkansas, but they need her to run the 400 leg of the distance medley relay) 800 - Asia Diaz, Brintney Green, Gladys Kipsang mile - Addison Lemaster 3K - Lillian Badaru, Sally Kipyego, Kaci Westervelt 5K - Michelle Guzman Distance medley relay - Lillian Badaru (1200 leg), Trudy Clark (400 leg), Gladys Kipsang (800 leg), Sally Kipyego (mile leg), with Asia Diaz as the designated alternate - she could conceivably run the 400, 800, or 1200 as needed
Obviously, not all of the accepted entries will compete in every event in which they were accepted - for instance, I don't expect Gilbert Limo to un the 800, mile and 3K. By today, the coaches must make any scratches and by Wednesday or Thursday, we will have a better idea about who will be running what. It's just weird to see so many Red Raiders NOT going to this meet.
