I have seen Plinario at both meets and I think he must be nursing some injuries. I have not gotten to talk to him at all. Schneeman has not looked good running the 600y each week. In fact, he did not finish the race this week. Not sure if he has some slight injury he is trying to fight through to make an impression, but he has been disappointing thus far.
Both Jamele Mason and Brandon Tucker look really good - to a point. There is simply a big jump from HS to college men's hurdle, with the hurdle being 3 inches higher. Both Mason and Tucker look a little tentative, they are not attacking the hurdle like Omo Osaghae does. However, in both cases, when each of them run a leg on the 4X400, you can see that pure speed and athleticism. The hurdling portion will hopefully work itself out over the season.
One other note - Nathan Lowry, another of Tech's "embarrassment of riches" in the hurdles looked like he might have pulled up a bit at the end of the prelim heat of the 55H and he did not run in the finals. Hope there is no problem for Nate, who has worked hard to become a good college hurdler (7th in the Big 12 110H last year).
