JUCO pass-rushing star adds two more offers
Wayne Dorsey isn't focusing on recruiting much right now.
That isn't stopping some prospective suitors, however, from focusing on him.
Dorsey, a 6-foot-8, 255-pound defensive end from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, has picked up a pair of new offers and another program is hinting that an offer could be forthcoming any day now.
Still, Dorsey is spending this summer prepping for his sophomore season at the Perkinston, Miss., school.
"My main focus right now is school and working out and getting my body right for this upcoming season," Dorsey said.
Dorsey added offers from Michigan and Iowa State in the last week, and LSU appears poised to offer as well.
"LSU is getting into the picture," said Dorsey, a native of Baltimore, Md. "I hope (LSU offers). I definitely like LSU. You can't beat the SEC. There's not a lot of players from Maryland getting to play in the SEC. Getting an offer from LSU means you're a top-caliber player and I'd definitely look into it."
Dorsey has offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Mississippi, Michigan, Iowa State, Tennessee and South Florida. He said earlier this week no school is the leader for his signature, one that is doubly coveted due to the strong likelihood that Dorsey will be a December graduate who can go through spring drills at the school of his choice.
"Every situation is unique," Dorsey said. "I like everybody."
Dorsey will be in Maryland through the middle of next month. On his return to Mississippi, he still plans to stop in Oxford, Miss., to check out Ole Miss.
"I definitely want to stop down and see Ole Miss," Dorsey said.
