Tech ready for home exhibition
The Red Raiders have a challenging non-conference schedule starting with a road game at Alabama in just the third game of the regular season.
Fortunately, there's a buffer zone to fine-tune the little things with games against Houston Baptist and a decent Northern Arizona program in addition to Friday's exhibition match against Angelo State at 7 p.m.
This won't be Texas Tech's first competition of the year. The squad traveled to SMU where it squared off a remarkably improved program coached by Larry Brown in a 'secret' scrimmage where results of the contest aren't made public.
That being said, the scrimmage was reportedly an eye-opening experience for a team still at square one of the rebuilding process. There were positives and negatives which assistant coach Alvin Williamson summed up nicely.
