Former Tech assistants give Kingsbury nod and wave
DALLAS -- For a guy with a polarizing personality, Mike Leach has a big thumbprint on how the Big 12 Conference looks today. And we're not talking about the spread, hurry-up offense every coach at Big 12 Media Days defended.
Texas Tech was a stopping point for Baylor head coach Art Briles, West Virginia's Dana Holgorsen and the Red Raiders' new head coach Kliff Kingsbury.
All three largely broke into into Division I together. Holgorsen and Briles were a part of Leach's inaugural staff while Kingsbury was the former Tech coach's first quarterback understudy.
Together, they constitute three of the Big 12's 10 head coaches.
