The night of warm feelings continued into the morning as coaches of other sports and athletes of other sports wrote to their men's basketball friends on social media websites like Twitter.

The Red Raiders had just defeated a very good Iowa State team, 56-51, and the team's effort to overcome recent struggles was noted by followers of the program. You don't see the kind of outpour the Texas Tech basketball team got Wednesday very often.

Tech (9-8, 2-4) wasn't supposed to beat the Cyclones. But it did.

And just like that, the Red Raiders have surpassed their overall win total from last season with a ninth victory in 2012-2013 and passed up the 1-17 mark they had last season in Big 12 play with 12 more games to go at 2-4.
