Mike Jinks thought he had an answer for Texas Tech as he was flying to Lubbock from San Antonio on Wednesday. Within 10 minutes of talking with head coach Kliff Kingsbury, Jinks knew for sure he was going to be the Red Raiders' new running backs coach.

Jinks had been prepared. He had turned Cibolo (Texas) Byron P. Steele High School, which opened in 2005, into a legitimate state power from the San Antonio area. He knew sooner or later he would have the opportunity to talk to college coaches and the 40-year-old had already discussed a move with his family.

Jinks explained everything to guest hosts Richard Oliver and Jason Minnix on the show 'The Hardline' on ESPN San Antonio 1250 AM.
