Williams has Army in his Top Three
Army continues to effectively press forward with the West Coast recruiting, already having landed 3-star prospects in OL Patrick Joseph and defensive end Andrew McLean.
Of course, getting an athlete Tyler Williams on board will only enhance what could be Army's best recruiting class since the Ellerson era kick-off.
Already holding from San Diego State, Army, Colorado, Air Force, South Dakota State and Yale, the Oro (Ariz.) Ironwood Ridge High School prospect is now being deeping pursued by many of the aforementioned schools.
"I had in-house visits from Air Force, Army and Yale and their coaches over the last week and a half. South Dakota State came down a couple of days ago," said Williams, who has scheduled a visit to Yale on the 4th of January.
"Well actually, Coach Guyader was at my house yesterday. It went well, it went really well. He just talked about the qualities of the guys that they recruit and they believe I fit into that mold. Also, just the leadership you would gain by attending West Point. I am going to try to make my visit there sometime in January."
Presently, there are three schools that are atop Williams list of colleges and in no particular order, the 5-foot-11, 180 athlete named Air Force, Army and Yale as his top three.
Williams indicated that the student-athlete title is truly a significant part of his identity as continues to narrow his list of colleges. "Football is not guaranteed, but I want to do it as long as I can," adds Williams, who currently maintains a 3.5 GPA. "However, once that runs its course, I will have a plan to fall back on. So I want to attend a university that will sat me up for my future. I want to major in either political science or law."
On the season, Williams' whose primary position was quarterback, passed for 1,300 yards (17 tds) and rushed for 1,100 yards (15 tds)
