Gotcher 'leaning' toward Tech
Garland (Texas) Lakeview Centennial shooting guard Toddrick Gotcher made his official visit to Texas Tech over the weekend and like some others, he was pleasantly surprised with what he found in West Texas.
"John Roberson was my host so I hung out with him for most of the time I was there. Saturday we got up and ate breakfast and then got to do a lot of team stuff," Gotcher said. "I went to their practice, and then we went to the football game that night. That was really exciting. A great atmosphere. It was a lot of fun."
"I realized how fun the city is. I thought it was going to be boring at first, but there's a lot of crazy stuff going on there. I had a great time and can definitely see myself having a good time if I lived there."
Gotcher will be visiting San Diego this weekend, but says that he has no other visits scheduled beyond that. It looks like the recruiting process may be coming to an end soon for the 6-foot-3, 185-pounder. "I think a decision could probably come next week. I want to wait until after I take this next visit to see how I feel."
If a decision is soon to come, the Red Raiders could find themselves in good standing with Gotcher based off of his reaction to his trip to the South Plains. "I felt really good about them when I left there. I was already pretty high on them, but it just made it that much better to be around the players and coaches over the weekend," he said. "I'd say I'm leaning towards Tech right now, but I'm going to wait until after this visit to see what happens. I'm really liking them a lot, though."
Aside from Texas Tech and San Diego, Gotcher holds offers from Auburn, Baylor, the Citadel, Drake, Houston, NC Wilmington, North Texas, Pennsylvania, San Jose State, SMU, Tulane, and UTEP.
