CenTex ATH to be school's first DI signee
Lago Vista, Texas is a small community located northwest of Austin at the north end of Lake Travis. It is a little off the beaten path and normally not a destination where you find college coaches traipsing through the office of head football coach Alan Haire.
However, it's a different story this year due to an athlete who may be the most talented in the school's relatively short history. Class of 2011's JeMarcus Johnson does a little bit of everything for the Vikings.
"I guarantee you the last two weeks have been crazy," Haire said. "There's been 15 to 20 major schools. It's neat because we're not a major school. We started football in 2000 and I have been here eight seasons. He's the first potential Division I athlete that we have ever had any traffic on and it's been fun for our kids."
